Friends of the Earth Middle East (FOEME) have been gathering evidence about the water situation in Wadi Fuqeen and surrounding villagers.
They recently made a 'hazard assessment' trip to Wadi Fuqeen, and the nearby Palestinian villages of Battir, Nahalin, Husan. They also collected evidence in an area near the Israeli town of Tsur Haddasseh - where villagers have many Israeli friends and supporters.
Amongst many other things, FOEME found evidence of pollution by sewage. There are often sewage outflows from the nearby illegal settlement of Beitar Illit and that is likely to be the cause of the problem in these areas.
